GARY HUSBAND & JANEK GWIZDALA

On Thursday 12th August, Drumtech and Guitar-X were lucky enough to have a visit
from Gary Husband, accompanied by US based bass player Janek Gwizdala.

The pair started with a blistering improvised 20 minute piece. Gary was on fine form, flying around the kit with Janek supplying some sublime bass licks and grooves. The pair then went on to field questions from the eager audience about their previous work practice routines, their influences and how to get the most out of playing in a Rhythm Section. After an interesting Q & A session the pair changed instruments.

many other instruments. Janek also is very handy at on a number of different disciplines including bass, keys, drums, guitar and trumpet to a world class standard. Gary moved
on to play keys, and Janek took Gary’s position at the kit. Another improvised piece followed but thistime worked around Jans Jungle groove. After anothr Q & A Session, Gary and Janek closed the night, back on drums and bass respectively with a 20 minute jazz piece. It was an amazing night at Drumtech and Guitar-X that all the students enjoyed and took a lot of very useful information from.
