Tech Music Schools rounded off an exciting year in which we celebrated 25 years of
producing top musicians with a stylish Christmas Graduation bash on 14 Dec at Lock 17
in the heart of Camden.
Featuring a showcase by graduating students from the One Year Diploma, the night is seen by
the industry as a tip off for new talent, with many students performing original material.
There was great versatility from students, with covers ranging from Nothing Else Matters by
Metallica to a sublime version of Jocelyn Brown’s Somebody Else’s Guy performed by
Lisa-Jayne May, with winner of Best Overall Student Greg Hofmann on bass. Lorel Allen’s
band had fun with a different arrangement of Muse’s Starlight, which earned her the Best
Vocal Performance award.
Songwriters Joanna Swainson, Maria Rubalaskya and Adrian Becerril Garcia got the chance
to display their vocal and writing talents, each demonstrating a unique style. The crowd
responded particularly well to the Latin rhythms of Adrian’s Diste Libertad, with Krzyzstof
Mierzejewski, Best Overall Drums winner providing the beats!
We were proud to offer some amazing prizes from our generous partners; Peavey, Marshall,
Ashdown, Zildjian, Vater and ACS to students in the categories of Best Overall Student,
Most Improved Student and the Best Performance of the night, awarded by tutors.
We want to thank everyone involved with December’s Graduation and we wish our students
every success in the future!
