TRAVIS BARKER TO PRODUCE KOOPA'S DEBUT ALBUM

February 13, 2008 (Nashville, TN) - Pied Piper Records announced today that UK band KOOPA will join forces with BLINK 182’s Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker to produce their debut album. The band recently joined the label’s roster, signing a four-album deal.

Over the past year, KOOPA has made music history by becoming the first ever unsigned band to make it in to the UK Top 40. In total they had three unsigned singles chart in the Top 40, the most recent "The Crash" reaching number 16 in November 2007. They also became the first ever unsigned band to enter the Hit40 UK chart.

Of course you all know Mark and Travis from BLINK-182 and +44, but did you know that they have produced not only Blink-182 and +44 albums, but have also produced albums for the likes of Simple Plan, New Found Glory and Motion City Soundtrack.

As part of the studio team Mark and Travis will be joined by Rick Rubin protege Chris Holmes on the engineers desk.

As well as working with Blink-182 and +44, Chris has worked with many of the music industries top artists and has engineered and mixed some of the biggest records of the last 10 years including the highly acclaimed, Stadium Arcadium, Californication and Blood Sugar Sex Magik by The Red Hot Chilli Peppers.

KOOPA will be recording at Mark's own studio in Los Angeles and work on the new album will commence at the start of April.

KOOPA will be leaving for Nashville to work on new material in early March and will be playing a few warm up gigs before they head off to the SXSW Festival in Austin, Texas where on the 15th March they will be showcasing at The Wave.
